The present study was conducted in Amravati district of Vidarbha region of Maharashtra state. The study “Perception of tribal farmers about front line demonstration” was conducted in Chikaldara and Dharni talukas of Amravati district, 80 respondents (tribal farmers) were purposively selected for study. The data were collected by personal interview method with the help of structured interview schedule. The data were tabulated, analyzed and interpreted. The findings of the study revealed that the majority of tribal farmers were having middle age group of 35 to 55 years, education upto high school level, medium level farming experience, marginal size of land holding (0.01 to 1.00 ha), low level training received and medium level annual income 50001 Rs. to 1,00,000 Rs. However, the observation also found that most of the respondents were possessed medium level social participation, medium level extension contact, medium level achievement motivation and medium level economic motivation. Majority of the respondents were interested in front line demonstration programme of Bengal gram and soybean. The significant variables include achievement motivation and economic motivation found the positive and significant level of probability 0.01 with perception level. The variable viz., training received, social participation and extension contact found positive and significant at 0.05 level of probability with perception level. The variable age, education, farming experience, land holding and annual income found non-significant relationship with perception level.Keywords

The present study was conducted mainly with the specific objective to study. For the study Amravati district was selected and from this district four tahsils selected, from this tahsils five villages selected and from each village four beneficiaries were selected on the basis of maximum number of farm pond. For this study 80 respondents are selected. Ex-post facto research design was used for the research study. It was noticed that, 47.5 per cent respondents were educated upto middle school level, half 51.25 per cent of the respondents were having semi medium land holding, majority 75.00 per cent of the respondents had medium farming experience, majority 53.75 per cent of the respondents had low area under irrigation, majority 73.75 per cent of the respondents had medium family size, majority 65.00 per cent of the respondents had low social participation, most 66.25 per cent of the farmers medium extension contact, half of the respondents i.e. 47.5 per cent had medium economic motivation, half of the respondents i.e. 61.25 per cent were having medium risk preferences. The independent variables namely land holding, area under irrigation, family size, extension contact, risk preferences are positively and highly significant with impact of the farm pond beneficiaries at 0.01 level of probability. The variables namely education, farming experience, economic motivation are significantly correlated with impact of the farm pond beneficiaries at 0.05 level of probability. Whereas, social participation showed non-significant relationship with farm pond beneficiaries.Keywords

The Agrowon is the most popular Marathi daily Agricultural newspaper it provides lot of agricultural information in the form of news story, success story, regular agricultural feature, agricultural article and information about different advanced technology cultivation practices and diseases resistant variety. So Agrowon is helpful to farmers to inhance their production. Farmers are early in adopting the new technology by reading Agrowon as compare to other source of agricultural infomation. Therefore, Agrowon play a vital role in changing farmers adoption level and increasing production. So there is need to do content analysis of Agrowon to compare the type of information i.e. Horticultural and non- Hoticultural published in Agrowon. Present study consist of location, space covered by the horticultural information and identification of different types, forms of presentation of horticultural information of Agrowon daily published in Marathi daily newspaper ‘Agrowon’ from Nagpur edition of Maharashtra.52 issues of ‘Agrowon’ published from 1 January 2018 to 31 December 2018 was selected and studied with the help of specially designed proforma for collection and analysis of the contents of ‘Agrowon’. The data was presented in the form of percentage and frequencies. The results of the present investigation are as follows. The non-horticultural information occupied very large space 85.88 per cent as compare to horticultural information 14.11 per cent. Regarding the newspaper advertisements, 14.30 per cent of the total space was occupied by the horticultural advertisements whereas; non-horticultural advertisements occupied very large space i.e. 85.69 per cent. Most of the horticultural information published on right side 53.05 per cent of the newspaper. Most of the horticultural information is in the photo news i.e. 88.55 per cent.
